I have lived in quite a few places in my life.
New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, Washington, DC, and now Florida. The latter being the worst place to find help. My female business partner believes Florida is "too laid back". There's a transient melting pot of Cubans, Haitians, and Jamaicans. I've met a few Black Americans and Asians but more conservatives than I'd care to admit. But my point is no one wants to work around here! I hire without discrimination and true I'm not paying top dollar but surely something is better than nothing (which by the way, I offered a sterling silver work from home opportunity to a woman, who I knew had a complicated pregnancy with TWINS, urged by her doctor to stay off her feet and she still wouldn't get on board!)
I tried to hire a down and out neighbor who hadn't worked in 3 years and who has 2 kids but she wouldn't take the job at my Senior Care Home because it wasn't paying enough! She would've been in a relaxing home environment where she'd cook and lightly clean with her medical background. But sure enough, some time later, I discovered her working at a local grocery store. I hope she likes the work there and they are paying her desired wage or offer some benefits.
Another lady, I hired and who was working out quite nicely, she could cook American food, had OCD and loved to clean, she called if she was running late, but then she gave an unauthorized medication. We counseled her but then we found out she had started asking for money of the residents. Weh ad helped her out numerous times before but this time she pushed the envelope too far! What did she really give up for $2 !?*
So, I wanted to inform you that South Florida has a horrible employment pool, bad customer service, and poor health food choices (only a Whole foods and a few farmer's markets).
